As Melbourne event photographers, we get to attend some high profile and prestigious events each year. Among those are events such as the Logies and the ARIAs, but there are also plenty of internationally famous events such as the Australian Open Tennis and the Melbourne Cup. Sure, it might stop our nation, but horse racing fans from around the world are watching too.
While those watching on television may get to see the horse races and the jockeys, on the ground here in Melbourne we get to see the international guests and celebrities that are flown into to add a little glamour to The Birdcage. Over the years there have been a host of famous faces from Sarah Jessica Parker to Usain Bolt and Naomi Campbell.
In 2013 we were one of the event photographers lucky enough to photograph Dita Von Teese as she graced the Lavazza marquee in The Birdcage at Flemington. She posed for photos for the baying mob of photographers before moving inside the Lavazza marquee where she was alot more relaxed and happy to pose for more candid photos while socialising with guests.
Notice how we photograph the celebs and notable guests rather than the sport side of it, which we love to the more accomplished sports photographers. You might occasionally find us photographing dogs though!
